Mobile Sensory Testing Services Limited (MSTS)

MSTS offers its clients a complete product and concept development research service combining sensory profiling and consumer testing. It was founded in 1982 and operates from offices in Westerham, Kent under Jerry Thomas, its Managing Director.

MSTS has developed unique expertise in the areas of sensory analysis and profiling of products, with a particular focus on the food and drink sectors. MSTS works for many of the main manufacturers in the sector, and provides consultancy to many blue-chip companies both in the UK and abroad. Its clients include Heinz, Danone, Burger King, Premier Foods and Nestle.

With its own in-house sensory facilities, MSTS has a panel of around 100 experts, chosen on the basis of their sensory abilities. It also works regularly with a large pool of consumer interviewers and their supervisors, and has created a database of consumer respondents for use in future studies (with around 3,000 members to date).

MSTS offers its clients a complete product and concept development research service combining sensory profiling and consumer testing.

MSTS has recently developed two new offers:

  • Adding concept testing to its already impressive range of services covering product development.
  • Installing touchscreen technology into two hall testing locations to allow the data to be collected online, giving its clients a service which is both faster and better.

MSTS was also a founding member of newvista research - the pre-eminent on-line research panel that was brought to the market in February 2007.
